HygroPOD™ is a unitary foods/materials moisture removal system. The preservation of raw food goods and some process materials can be critical for companies that produce and/or use them as their core product.
HygroPOD™ can be used for any fruit, vegetable or meat de-moisturizing/semi-dehydrating mid-level temperature range process OR for manufacturing material process prepping for that matter, not just date-fruit processing which it was originally designed for. A contained or mixed product is loaded into “HygroPOD™” and scales sample weight-select loads. Along with air content, ambient and contained, this weight data is factored-in via a microprocessor, which through proprietary algorithms, monitors and operates the complete process start to finish.
The result is near-uniformly de-moisturized product in dramatically shortened time frames… with outputs often at near double per shift. Giving complete control of the last pre-distribution step BACK to the processor… HygroPOD™ delivers processed product under the customer’s control all while helping to substantially increase their bottom line.
The largest date grower & processor in North America located in California’s Coachella Valley had a large problem… a challenge they needed to overcome: how could they decrease the time it was taking to dry-out…”de-moisturize”… large quantities of pitted and splayed Medjool dates in order to increase their production output.
Currently, it was taking anywhere from 18 to 48 hours to accomplish this drying task and they were falling behind on order fulfilment. Not good.
Apollo’s HygroPOD™ technology was the solution. A perfect application of a clean methodology which utilized in-facility steam generated heat, high volume filtered dry air and microprocessor control, HygroPOD™ integrated & combined on-site utilities and meteorological conditions with a simple user interface for the line operators to deliver just what was needed.
Able to process 10,000 lbs. of the date-fruit at a time… (de-moisturize them by removing more than 10% of moisture content within the fruit in preparation for additional food processing)… HygroPOD™ can accomplish this in 5 to 12 hours depending on the type of dates, their moisture content and ambient environmental factors. This is a dramatic decrease of drying time over the previous method (18 to 48 hours for the same quantity of dates).
More impressive is HygroPOD’s process that sees more than 260 fresh air changes per hour across the date-fruit ensuring full moisture removal while maintaining a “food clean” environment.

Not intended as a full dehydration unit, but rather a mid-range semi-passive system, “HygroPOD™” is perfect for removing partial-weight volume water content.
